Hey everyone, it’s Drew, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I will show you a way to make a special dish, trifle. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

A light and sweet trifle, made with angel food cake, whipped topping, and colorful fruits, is just right for an easy, summery dessert. Vary the colors of fruits and berries for different holidays. Trifle definition is - something of little value, substance, or importance.

Trifle is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by millions every day. They are fine and they look wonderful. Trifle is something that I have loved my whole life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have trifle using 12 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Trifle:
  1. Take 15 sponge fingers (use eggless cake if vegetarian)
  2. Get 6 tablespoon mock tail
  3. Prepare 2 x sachets of raspberry flavour jelly
  4. Take 300 ml boiled water
  5. Prepare 600 ml cold water
  6. Prepare 8 medium size fresh strawberries
  7. Get 125 ml fresh cream
  8. Prepare leaves fresh mint
  9. Get Few Blueberry
  10. Take 50 g custard powder
  11. Take 60 g sugar
  12. Get 2.5 litres milk

The contents of a trifle are highly variable; many varieties exist. With my English trifle I substituted shortcake rounds on the bottom soaked w/sherry overnight. Hot Custard or vanilla pudding cooled then pured on top of the set jello. Complete topping w/fresh whipped cream ( carton type ) then toss sprinkes on the top and a cherry in.

Instructions to make Trifle:
  1. In a kettle boil 300 ml water. In a large bowl add the jelly crystals and add boiling water. Stir and dissolve the crystals. As soon as they have dissolved, stir in the 600ml of cold water. Slice the strawberries.
  2. In a large bowl place the sponge fingers and add the mock tail and let it soften. Scatter the strawberries over the sponge fingers. Pour the jelly slowly over the sponge fingers and strawberries until they are evenly covered. Cover the bowl and chill in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours or until the jelly is set.
  3. Dissolve the custard powder using 1/2 cup milk. In a pan bring milk to boil and add sugar. Add in the custard and keep stirring so no lumps are formed. Let it cool to room temperature. Take the bowl out of the fridge and spoon the custard on top of jelly.
  4. In a bowl add the fresh cream and whisk with electric whisk until soft peaks form. Using a piping bag decorate the trifle with fresh cream, strawberry, blueberry and fresh mint leaves.

To assemble the trifle, spoon a layer of the lemon cream into a large glass bowl. Add a layer of pound cake, breaking the slices into pieces that fit. Then soak the cake with a layer of berries. A trifle bowl or any glass bowl will showcase the beautiful layers and is the most common way to serve a trifle recipe. PRO-Tip: Aim for even layers for the most beautiful presentation.
