The ingredients needed to make Mshikaki:
  1. Make ready 1/2 kg beef(fillet),2 tomatoes, 2 onions, 1 big green chillie,6 skewers and 1/4 cup of soy sauce

  3. Then onion, another piece of meat, a tomato and lastly a piece of meat again.
  4. On a heated grill, put the mshikakis, sprinkle some soy sauce using a barbeque brush, keep turning them one by one
  5. Do that repeatedly, until the mshikakis turn golden brown and a little crunchy. and ready to be served.

The secret to Mshikaki is the marinade. which is a combination of various aromatic herbs and spices, prevalent along the eastern coast of Africa. Mishkaki is a famous East African bbq meat delicacy. Cubes of steak are marinated and then skewered and grilled until tender, the result is succulent, moist and delicious barbecued meat morsels. It is somewhat similar to the desi beef boti.
