  17. Take 1 tbsp Jeera
  18. Make ready 1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  19. Prepare 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  20. Take 2 tbsp Curry leaves

Manathakkali (Makoy in Hindi) in English is 'Black Nightshade', 'Sun Berry', or 'Wonder Berry'.   4. Add manathakkali vathal and roast for couple of minutes in low flame. Now add vathakuzhambu powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, grated ginger and chopped tomato. Saute for 5 minutes in low flame.
  5. Now add tamarind water and salt. Cover and cook in medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes until oil separates from the gravy. Stir occasionally.
  6. Now add jaggery and cook for another 2 minutes. Add ghee and adjust the salt.
  7. Switch off the flame and serve hot with rice, papad..
