Steps to make Gujiya:
  1. Take the all-purpose flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Heat ghee and pour on the flour. Rub the ghee with the flours, with your fingertips to form a bread crumb like texture.

  8. Cook the khoya, till it begins to gather around itself. Add desiccated coconut and cook for 30 sec. Switch off the flame and keep the pan down. Let the khoya stuffing cool down completely.
  9. Then add powdered sugar, chop dry fruits and cardamom powder. Better to seive the powdered sugar if there are lumps.
  10. Mix everything well and keep the stuffing aside. Check the taste and add more sugar if you prefer.
  11. Knead the dough for a minute. And make small pedas out of it.
  12. Roll out a peda. Try not to use extra flour. Roll thin. Place on gujiya maker and add 1/2 -1 tsp filling. And press and seal well.
  13. Heat ghee on side to fry.
  14. Add the gujiya to ghee and fry on low flame till lightly golden.
  15. You can serve them hot or can even eat when they are cooled down.
