  1. Prepare 200 g light muscavado sugar
  2. Make ready 150 g self raising flour

  6. Get 200 ml milk
  7. Make ready 25 g butter, melted
  8. Get Few drops vanilla extract

  11. Make ready 150 g caster sugar
  12. Make ready 75 g cocoa powder

Sauce: Sift combined brown sugar and extra cocoa evenly over the top of the pudding mix. Gently pour the water over the pudding, using a spoon to break the flow. Our indulgent self-saucing puddings magically create their own sauce while baking. This prevents chocolate from burning or eggs from coagulating.

Instructions to make Self-saucing chocolate pudding:
  1. Preheat the oven at 180degC.
  2. Put the SR flour, cocoa, almonds, light muscavado sugar and chocolate in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, add the milk, butter, vanilla and egg. Whisk them all together.
  4. Bring the wet and dry ingredients together and pour into a 1.5L oven proof bowl.
  5. Mix the caster sugar and cocoa for the sauce together and sprinkle over the top of the cake batter.
  6. Pour 500ml of freshly boiled water over the top. (Counter-intuitative I know but its OK!)
  7. Cook in the oven for 40 mins and then take out and rest for 10 mins.
  8. Serve with cream, ice cream, or how ever you like!

Take a large saucepan and a stainless-steel bowl that will rest on the edge without being in contact with the water.
