- Wash and soak the rice in a bowl. I have cut the chicken into small pieces and marinade with pinch of salt and pepper. I had some left over vegetable curry so used them in it. Otherwise you chopped all the vegetables and wash them.
- In a large frying pan pour just 1 tsp of cooking oil. Then add the chicken. Cook it until the colour turns into brownish. Then add onion and tomatoes. As we prefer bit spicy so I have added some green chillies but it’s optional.
- Now add all the spices and cook for 10mins on medium heat. Then pour the soaked rice & lentils. Mix them well. If you are using the raw vegetables, this is the time when you have to add the vegetables. Give it a good stir. After 7 to 10 minutes add 10 cups of water. Make sure it gets mushy. So need to pour enough water. Put the lid on and cook until everything gets perfectly cooked.
- Serve it hot with some lemon or any pickle. 🙂
