- Add cubed bottle gourd sliced bitter gourd
- Saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
- Add daal and mix adding water
- Boil well till it is soft
- Add sugar and mix well
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds, chopped onions, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chopped garlic, salt, saute it. Add chopped green chilly, chopped bottle gourd, chopped tomatoes, Mix it and put the lid on and cook it till soft. Bottle gourd dal is ready to be served. Note - For this recipe, you can use either tur dal or moong dal. If you are using moong dal ,then pressure cook both moong dal and bottle gourd together.
