- Now add the cooked dal and give a quick stir. Add grated coconut and mix well.
Cabbage is not on my favorites list for a long time. You can make poriyal with a lot of other vegetables like beetroot poriyal, french beans poriyal, potato poriyal etc. Traditionally it's served as a side dish with steamed rice and sambhar or rasam or any lentil of your choice like moong dal or chana dal. Chop the cabbage and set aside. Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
