Steps to make Chana Dal vada:
  1. Firstly wash chana dal and soak it atleast for 4 hrs in water or overnight
  2. Next strain the soaked dal on strainer
  3. Now in a blender add this dal, ginger & red chilles and grind to a coarse paste (dont use any water while grinding)
  4. Now transfer this dal mixture in a mixing bowl and to this add cumin,fennel seeds, salt, onion, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves,chopped green chilles
  5. Mix all the ingredients well, mixture should not be very moist or dry,
  6. Grease your palms with oil and divide mixture into 7-8 equal portions.take each portion of mixture, give it a round lemon shape and flatten it a little by pressing it in between your palms and give a pattie like shape.place all vadas in plate
  7. Now heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame, when oil is medium hot, slide 2-3vadas in oil from the side of pan and deep fry them until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Transfer them on paper napkin, now chana dal vadas are ready to serve, serve it with tomato ketchup or coconut chutney
