Steps to make Sweet Steamed Dumplings:
  1. Firstly, to make the outer covering of the dumplings, add water in a pan. Add salt and ghee and let the water come to a boil. Turn off the heat. Add the rice flour to this water and mix well. Cover with a lid and set it aside for about 5 minutes.
  2. After 5 minutes, transfer it into a bowl. Add few drops of ghee to it. Also grease your palm and knead it for about 10 minutes into a smooth dough.
  3. Take a pan. Add jaggery to it. When the jaggery starts to melt, add the coconut. Mix and cook on medium-low heat until the jaggery melts fully and you get a thick mixture. Add cardamom powder and cinnamon powder. Mix and cook for 2 minutes. Set aside and allow it to cool.
  4. Pinch a small ball from the dough and flatten it. Give it a cup shape. Add a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery filling. Gather the dough at the center and seal it.
  5. Heat 1 1/2 glass of water in a steamer. Place a stand in the steamer. Grease a steamer plate with ghee. Arrange the dumplings on the steamer plate. Leave space between each dumpling. Cover with a lid and steam for 10 minutes on medium heat or until the dumplings turn glossy. When done, turn the heat off. Wait for 2 minutes. You can use an idli stand or a modak maker.
  6. Sweet Steamed Dumplings is ready to be served.
