  2. Get 2 cups sugar

  7. Prepare 10 glacé cherries
  8. Get 4 tbsp clarified butter
  9. Make ready 1 cup pineapple juice

This recipe was given to me, upon request! We have a fresh Mex grill place here that uses sweet rice. This recipe is very similar to this restaurants. Use it on your fresh tortilla salads, or in burritos, on the side, any way you have it, it is darn good (and sweet!) NOTE: The amount of sugar makes it very sweet.

Steps to make Sweet rice:
  1. Soak the rice in water mixed with the yellow food colour for an hour.
  2. Put the rice to boil in the same water.
  3. Once boiled, drain the water from the rice.
  4. In another pot add the sugar, pineapple juice, water, pineapple chunks and cherries and saffron and bring to boil until it becomes a syrup.
  5. In the pot u boiled the rice in, add the clarified butter and melt. Add the sugar syrup and the rice and stir.
  6. Boil until most of the rice water has evaporated.
  7. Then simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes.
  8. You can serve this warm or cold!!!

You can alter the amount of sugar if you would like, just remember it is supposed. It's not traditionally Thai either, but what it dishes out will make you come back for more. The kao soi seems to be their specialty, and it did not disappoint. The flavor of the sauce was unforgettable, and the condiments add the perfect mixture of surprises to the broth. Glutinous rice (Oryza sativa var. glutinosa; also called sticky rice, sweet rice or waxy rice) is a type of rice grown mainly in Southeast and East Asia, Northeastern India and Bhutan which has opaque grains, very low amylose content, and is especially sticky when cooked.
