The ingredients needed to make Veg Manchurian:
- Make ready 1 medium sized cabbage chopped
- Take 2 chopped onions
- Make ready 3-4 grated carrots
- Take 1 grated beetroot
- Prepare 4-5 chopped flowers of cauliflower
- Get 2 chopped capsicum
- Get 1 tsp black pepper powder
- Take 1 tspn red chilli powder
- Get 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Get 4-5 chopped green chillies
- Take 1 handfull of spring onion leaves
- Take to taste Salt
- Prepare Oil
- Get 1/2 tsp Soya sauce, Chilly Sauce, Tomato sauce each
- Make ready 2 tsp Arrowroot Powder
- Prepare Water
- Take 8-10 tsp All purpose flour
- Prepare 1 tsp Chicken Masala powder
- Take 1 onion and capsicum chopped in cubes
- Prepare 3-4 pcs garlic and green chillies chopped
Goes best with fried rice, schezwan fried rice or steamed rice. Veg Manchurian is one of the most popular Indo Chinese style dish and is a great dish to serve with fried rice or noodles. It's easy to make and restaurant like taste can be easily achieved at home. Manchurian is a fried vegetable "meatball" that is a regional food in India.
Instructions to make Veg Manchurian:
- Wash the vegetables mentioned above and chop them as finely as you can.
- Now add red chilly powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, half tspn of all the sauces, chicken masala powder to it. Add 8-10 tspn of all purpose flour and 2 tspn of arrowroot powder. Gradually pour water and turn the veggies to a fine doe. Make sure the doe isn't sticky.
- Make small balls from the doe prepared and keep them aside. Now take a pan and add a good qnty of oil to fry the balls
- Deep fry the balls till they turn golden brown. They will look alike as shown in the picture below. I used them as starters in my get together party.
- Similary fry all the balls and keep them aside. Now take out all the extra oil from the pan leaving behind just 2-3 tsps. Add chopped garlic, green chillies, onion and capsicum and stir them for a couple of minutes on a highflame.
- Take a bowl and add 1 tspn of arrowroot powder to it. Add hlf glass of water, 1/2 tspn of all the sauces to make a mixture.
- Now pour this mixture to the pan and add 1/2 tspn of balck pepper powder and bring it to a boil. Now add all the balls to the pan and mix it well.
- Now take out the manchurians in a serving plate and garnish them using spring onion leaves. They are ready to serve.
