- Take 100 gm horse gram / kala channa
- Prepare 1 potato boiled

- Make ready Handful coriander leaves
- Take 1 glass water to boil horse gram/kala channa(Chickpeas)

In this chana chaat, I skipped tamarind chutney which is sweet and sour in taste. This time when I was making aloo chana chaat, I replaced it with honey and fresh lime juice and that makes it so much healthier and lighter in taste. Chana Chaat is an Indian Chickpea salad usually made with lemon juice, chopped vegetables such as tomatoes and onions, green chilis, and chaat masala (which is an Indian spice mix). Some people also add chunks of boiled potatoes and tamarind chutney (imli).
Steps to make Chana Chaat:
- Wash and Soak horse gram overnight or 7-8 hours
- In a pressure cooker boil the soaked horse gram with little salt in it for 6-7 whistles.
- Once the pressure is released from the cooker discard the water and take boiled horse gram in a bowl.
- Add chopped onion, tomato, potato, salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, lime juice and coriander leaves. Give it a mix and it's ready to serve.
