- First marinade meat with the ground spices. Leave it for 1/2 hour. Soak the Chana dal in hot water. Now heat a frying pan with oil. Add onion and fry them until light brown. Then add the marinated meat in. Mix them well.
- After 5 minutes add chopped tomatoes or tomato paste. Keep stirring until they mixed. Now cook the meat for 45mins on medium heat. If needed add water. Now add the soaked Chana dal. Mix them again and add 1 cup water. Cover with lid and cook for more half an hour. Check in between. Once the dal and meat are soft means cooked. Garnish with fresh coriander. You can add some red big chilli as well if you have. Serve with flatbread or rice.
This is a dhal curry which is made with meat. Serve with rice, salads, sambals, Indian pickes and crispy spicy fried potatoes. NOTE: It can be made with red meat or chicken, if using chicken please remove the skin. Add more water, as needed, until chana dal has cooked through.
