- Cook Toor dal, mash them and keep aside - - Heat ghee in Kadai add mustard seeds. Allow them to crackle completely. Now add cumin seeds and saute for a minute.
- Add curry leaves, garlic slices. Once garlic sautes for a minute add chopped onion. Saute until onion turns light. - - Add green chilli, hing, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and little salt.
- Once masala raw smell goes off add the chopped tomato close with lid and cook until tomato mashes and comes to thick gravy. - - This is the correct time to add dal and water. Add a mix nicely. Let it boil for 5 minutes in low flame.
- Adjust the salt level. Add the chopped coriander leaves and allow it to boil for 2 minutes in same simmer level. - - Serve hot with rice and a dollop of ghee.
