Instructions to make Aliv ladoo(Garden cress seeds/Halim):
  1. Take a aliv in a bowl. Add coconut water in it. Mix well.
  2. Cover add rest it for 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Heat the ghee in a pan on low flame. Add grated fresh coconut, soaked aliv and finely chopped jaggery.
  4. You can add finely chopped almonds and cashews also. It is optional.
  5. Mix well and cook till the mixture leaves the side of the pan.
  6. It will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Switch off the gas. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  8. Let it cool down completely. Roll it out into ladoo. Aliv ladoo is ready. Store it in refrigerator for about 15 days. It will good at room temperature for 4 to 5 days.

They are good for lactating women. These are very healthy and they are rich in calcium and iron. I also make fusion laddus by adding Makhana (puffed lotus seeds) to these. That gives a nice texture to the laddus and makes them more healthier. Aliv Makhana Laadoo recipe is available on my blog.
