Keep the paste aside until needed again. Put a deep-bottomed pan on low flame and heat ghee in it. Then add the prepared chana dal paste in it. Once soaked well, put dal in sieve, drain extra water.

Instructions to make Chana Dal Barfi:
  1. Wash chana dal,soak for 10 minutes and cook in 1cup milk for 15 minutes on low flame.If required add some water.Grind to a smooth paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan,add chanadal paste,add 1/2cup milk.Stir and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes till paste is thick.
  3. Now add condenced milk,food colour,cardamom powder and 1/2 cup milk.Mix well and further cook for 10-15 minutes on low flame.
  4. Add chopped dry fruits and stir well till ghee separates
  5. Put a butter paper on a tray,transfer chana dal mix on tray and make 1" thick slab.Mark the shape with the help of a knife as shown in the picture.Apply dry fruits.
  6. Refrigerate the tray for 1-2 hours.Cut burfis and serve.
