Instructions to make Vaal ni daal / Bitter field beans:
  1. Wash beans and soak it for 24 hours. Now remove skin from each bean.
  2. Heat oil in a pot and add carom seeds and hing to it. Add finely chopped onion and saute for 5 minutes. Now add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste and cook for another 5 minutes. Add turmeric, salt and coriander cumin powder. Mix everything and add beans to it and add 1 cup of water. Let it took covered on a low heat for 30 minutes. Keep stirring in between so that it doesn't stick to the bottom.
  3. When it is cooked turn off the heat and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves. At the time of serving, drizzle some groundnut oil on top. It is best served with Jowar roti.
