Keep the paste aside until needed again. Put a deep-bottomed pan on low flame and heat ghee in it. Then add the prepared chana dal paste in it. Once soaked well, put dal in sieve, drain extra water.

Steps to make Chana Dal Barfi:
  1. Heat the pan add 1 cup milk and soaked bengal gram, cover the pan and cook till 5-10 minutes on low flame.
  2. When the milk is slightly less than half, stop the gas and let it cool down.
  3. Now grind it into a mixer and make a fine paste.
  4. Now heat the ghee in a pan, add paste and stir well, when the paste is thickened, add milkmaid and remaining half cup of milk in it.
  5. Keep stirring continuously and when it is slightly thickened add cardamom powder, almond powder, cashew powder, desiccated coconut, yellow colour and keep stirring.
  6. When the paste is too thick, or after leaving the pan, turn off the gas and spread it in the greased plate.
  7. Now garnish with desiccated coconut and pistachios chips. And cut in the shape of barfi.
  8. Serve when it is cool down
